CSCOMP is a normal and storm wave hindcast study performed back in 1988 for the Chukchi Sea. While the wave hindcast results are still proprietary, the storm wind fields used in the hindcast can be licensed for future modeling work.

Thirty severe historical storms were hindcast from the period 1954-1984. These storms were manually analyzed using available observational data adjusted to common reference level.

The CSCOMP storm wind fields are typically 3-7 days in length depending on each storm duration. These winds can be merged with a larger domain-scale background wind field and interpolated onto an arbitrary grid for modeling use if required.
